Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this continuing medical education activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Discuss growing evidence that assists clinicians in managing ADHD treatments.
  2. Discuss the gaps in evidence concerning diagnosis of complex ADHD.
  3. Discuss the implications of comorbidity, genetics, and neuroimaging for practice.
  4. Select treatment strategies that balance safety and efficacy during treatment of ADHD.

Target Audience
This educational activity is designed for child and adolescent psychiatrists, pediatricians, family practice physicians, and other healthcare professionals with a special interest in diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in children and adolescents.

Continuing Medical Education Credit
The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.

The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry designates this enduring material for a maximum of 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only those hours of credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Method of Participation / How to Earn Credit
The CME activity should take approximately 2.0 hours to complete. The participant should:

  1. Complete the pre-test.
  2. Review the full content of the activity.
  3. Complete the CME post-test and evaluation.
  4. A passing score of 70% must be obtained on the post-test in order to receive a CME certificate. You will receive two opportunities to successfully complete the post-test.
  5. Participants who complete the pre-test, post-test and evaluation will be issued a CME certificate, which may be printed at their location. No additional certificate will be mailed. This program will be available until August 31, 2013.
