PTCB Recertification Requirements

Renewal of certification is required every two years. A total of twenty hours of continuing education in pharmacy-related topics must be earned within the two-year certification period, on or before your expiration date. At least one hour shall be in the area of pharmacy law. Also, a maximum of ten hours may be carried out in the practice sites (in-service projects) under the supervision of the pharmacist(s) for whom the certified pharmacy technician works. Programs relating to functions outside the scope of practice for pharmacy technicians are not acceptable.
